Well Water Treatment Planner

Private well water often needs multiple treatment stages to address different issues. This tool builds a recommended treatment chain in the correct installation order, with equipment suggestions and cost estimates for each stage.

Before you start: Test your water

The EPA recommends testing private well water annually for bacteria, nitrates, pH, and total dissolved solids. If you suspect other contaminants (arsenic, radon, pesticides), test for those too. Contact your state or county health department for a list of certified laboratories, or search the EPA's private wells resource page.
